I Peter 5:7 says: “Casting all your cares” (all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns once and for all) “on Him, for He cares about you” (with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully.) (Amplified)

How easy it is to read those words, but how hard to live them out. We have so many cares and concerns, it seems, right now that we forget who is in control of every situation. There are many important things in our lives right now to be concerned for: families, friends, jobs. Not one of us is unaffected.
So how do we make this verse a reality in our lives? And, honestly, I struggle with this as much as any of you. We reason that our worries are justified by the current situation, but that is not what the Bible tells us. In II Corinthians 5:10, Paul says we break down strongholds (could one of those be worry?) by “taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ.”
My challenge to you, and myself, this week is to take every thought captive and rest in knowing that God loves us and is carefully watching over us.
